Public Lands Threatened: Wilderness group wants Shoshone motorized plan trimmed.

If the anti motorized are successful at suing the Shoshone Forest, that would result in an 80% loss of public lands access to the North Side of the Beartooth mountains which would mean about 45% of the trail system.

“The Shoshone Forest has about 2.4 million acres with only about 587 acres available for motorized use.  If it was not for snowmobiling, there would really not be any motorized areas on the Shoshone.  The motorized community felt that ALT 4 was a good compromise” Bert Miller Cody Country Snowmobile Assoc, Director.
